ABOUT ME
My Personality
My Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® is ENFJ (Extraversion + Intuition + Feeling + Judging).
"Warm, empathetic, responsive, and responsible. Highly attuned to the emotions, needs, and motivations of others. Find potential in everyone, want to help others fulfill their potential. May act as catalysts for individual and group growth. Loyal, responsive to praise and criticism. Sociable, facilitate others in a group, and provide inspiring leadership."
My Strengths
My CliftonStrengths are Individualization, Woo, Achiever, Input, and Discipline. Specifically, three of these combined have inspired me to pursue a blog!
Individualization: "You instinctively observe each person's style, each person's motivation, how each thinks, and how each builds relationships. You hear the one-of-a-kind stories in each person's life."
Woo: "Strangers can be energizing. You are drawn to them. You want to learn their names, ask them questions, and find some area of common interest so that you can strike up a conversation and build rapport."
Input: "You are inquisitive. You collect things...words, facts, books, and quotations... The world is exciting precisely because of its infinite variety and complexity."
Mindfulness
"I do enough. I have enough. I am enough."
In a fast-paced, achievement-driven society, I realized one day that hearing others gloat about busyness and sleep deprivation was not healthy for me. Noticing the degenerative side of my Achiever strength, I no longer wanted to feel that my accomplishments equated my self worth.
Over the past few years, I have embraced an "attitude of gratitude". Each morning, I write five specific people, places, or things for which I am grateful. It isn't perfect and I'm not perfect, but it has shifted my worldview and improved my mental health.
Interests
My interests include cooking (and eating!), yoga, reading, coffee stouts, camping, playing games, and spending time with loved ones.
For me, a meaningful life looks like being intentional about choosing activities that fill me up. Likewise, I value recommendations from friends and family of the ways in which they spend their time.
In Recommendations of an ENFJ, I want to reflect on some of the things I’ve grown fond of over the last few years.
